Nephthys - Personality
Colours
Nephthy's favourite colour is gold. For Nephthys, gold symbolises power, as it is a colour worn by the rich and the rulers. It is also like the colour of the sun and the sands of her desert home. Nephthys wears gold jewellery, as a symbol of her status. She also likes the colour purple. She finds it aesthetically pleasing, especially if it is a deep, rich purple. It reminds her of ripe fruits.
Patience
Nephthys could often be described as impatient, but only because she prefers others to get straight to the point. If there is something important that has to be done, or some plan to be set in motion that requires the perfect timing, Nephthys can be very patient. She cares more about facts and fate than emotions and fairytales.
Power & Respect
Nephthys is not power hungry, but she will not take orders from those she does not respect. Nephthys is a feline to be coveted and revered, but she does not expect worship when it is not due. Nephthys enjoys the respect and praise that her presence garners, but only because she feels as though she deserves it, based on her abilities and her actions.
Darkness
Nephthys is dark, but not evil. Her favourite time is night, and she fears no one, so she can walk through the darkness without concern. Her golden jewellery and horns giver her an ethereal glow.
Nephthys is a friend to the dead. Whenever someone has passed on, the family consider it a blessing if Nephthys visits their grave to pay her respects. The family feel their sorrow wane as they know their lost kin will be taken care of, and Nephthys is a reminder of this. Nephthys makes an effort to pay her respects to the dead because she knows that it means a lot to the others around her. In this way, she is thoughtful and kind.
Relations
Her best friend is her sister Isis. They have always gotten along well, regardless of what comes between them. The say that should one strike out, and take the life of the other, even that would be forgiven by these two. They are inseparable despite how different they are.
Osiris is the mate of Isis. He respects and protects her sister Nephthys, as he does his own mate. He knows that he can always count on Nephthys in his darkest hours, for she is always by her sister's side, and Isis will always be by his side.
Set will be the mate of Nephthys. While dark and violent against his foes, he will be an important ally for the small family. He will protect his mate with his unwavering strength.

Nephthys - History
Nephthys is from Egypt, but apart from that, her past is quite the mystery. None know from where she truly came, where she is now or where she is going. Nor what she is. While her regal adornments could be crafted by any talented goldsmith, her curled horns betray her true form. What power she wields and what her intentions might be are as much of a mystery as the rest of her. What path does she walk? Nephthys is forever in the darkness. But she does not bring death and despair.
Dark paws were placed firmly on the uncomfortably heated sand. Many admired her grace, particularly her ability to walk so elegantly and purposefully across the ever shifting sands. The ground was forever changing, the cream grains swirling about at the mercy of the wind, reshaping the world with each breath. How the Egyptians built such solid structures on grounds that were anything but, was a mystery to some.
But not to Nephthys. The sand parted before her like the red sea, the wind gently guiding her along the path it constructed before her, and swept away behind her. Even the sands bowed down to such a graceful creature, or so the kittens would say to one another whenever they saw her majestic form. Nephthys was an enigma to them. She kept mostly to herself, and to her sister Isis. Another enigma, but one no less graceful. Isis also kept mostly to herself and her sister, but she had other allies that walked alongside her. Her loyal friend Kato, a mystery himself, was always there to aid her. He served out of friendship, not out of duty, and that was why he was so very precious to her. Nephthys recognised this, and treated with him a respect that he felt was undeserving, but graciously accepted, for if Isis was fond of Nephthys, then so too was he.
Osiris was the friend and mate of Isis, but one who Nephthys always kept at arms length. Her own mate Set was occasionally competitive with his brother, and Nephthys was not foolish enough to get between them, particularly when her mate was in one of "those" moods. Set had many moods. He could be frighteningly dark at times, but Nephthys never feared him, and never failed to understand him. Her ease with him enhanced her own ability to intimidate, for any who stood beside the power and vengeful Set was surely one to be reckoned with in their own right.
The gentle breeze shifted direction, and Nephthys changed her path to follow, winding her way through the sands as she made her way towards her destination. The playful eyes of a group of rambunctious kittens followed her progress for a brief while, and they stopped their play to ponder a question that held no answer. Did she change the path of the sand, or did the sand change the path of her?
